St Day could well be crowned champions of the Kernow Stone St Piran League premier division by the end of Tuesday's clash with Falmouth Town Reserves at Bickland Park, writes Leon Prynn. 

They need just one point to be mathematically certain of the title, after thumping Penryn Athletic 6-0 at the weekend - with Sam Buckley scoring a first half hat-trick and Dan Richards emulating that feat in the second 45 minutes.

Mousehole Development moved into second place on goal difference after their 6-1 trouncing of Mullion Reserves at Clifden Park. On target for the visitors was Matt Stephens (2), Jamie Gilbert, Billy Curtis, Hayden Black and Victor Mullaly.

Previous occupants, Illogan RBL, suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat away to Falmouth Town Reserves who scored their goals through Jack Davies and Charlie Edney who both bagged a brace.

There was a nine-goal thriller at Borlase Park where Pendeen Rovers edged out Redruth United 5-4 and all the damage was done in the first half when Perranwell defeated Wendron United Reserves 2-0 with goals from Danhi Harvey and Stephen Maycock.

St Agnes are still finding it difficult to climb off the bottom of the table after they went down 4-0 at home to Helston Athletic Development 1. All the goals came in the first half from an Ollie Red hat-trick and a goal from Nat West.

Praze-an-Beeble’s division one title hopes received a huge boost after being awarded the points for the game they lost at Hayle Reserves. They tightened their grip even further by winning 3-1 at Ludgvan with goals from Alexandru Zamaneagra (2) and Harrison Badcock. Jonathan Sopp scored Ludgvan’s goal.

RNAS Culdrose bounced back from their Cornwall Intermediate Cup semi-final defeat by thumping Hayle Reserves 5-0 after scoring through Callum McPartlan, Daniel Hindmarch (3) and Owen Nichols.

St Ives Town were also 5-0 winners against Threemilestone after snapping up goals through Anthony Cornish (2), Kieran Eastwood, Harvey Troon and Sean Roberts.

Robertas Sumnauskas hit a hat-trick for West Cornwall in their 6-1 mauling of St Day Reserves. Sam Kemp (2) and Ashley Kemp had the other goals.

Wendron United III pulled off a big Evely Cup upset when they defeated league leaders Mawnan 2-1 with second half goals from Matthew Hemelik and Ant Brown. Mawnan, who also missed a penalty, scored through Ben Richardson.

In division two Redruth United Reserves maintained their title challenge with a 5-2 win away to Frogpool/Cusgarne.

A close game at Penlee Park saw Penzance Reserves pull off a 2-1 win against Stithians after scoring through Charlie Reynolds and Connor Thomas.

Perranwell Reserves won a competitive game 2-1 against Mawnan Reserves after Jack Evans and Ian Henry scored their goals. Danny Maybin netted for Mawnan.

Ethan Jory notched a brace of goals for Constantine at St Buryan, but it wasn’t enough as the Saints ran out 4-2 winners with goals from Jake Maddern, Finlay Harry, Tyler Simmonds and an own goal.

Dropship closed the gap on leaders Holman SC in division three after a 3-0 win against Falmouth DC. Their goals came from Tyler Prescott (2) and Toby Webb.

Probus remain firmly in the hunt after their 5-2 win at St Keverne where they scored through Tyler Cheshire (2), Sam Bullen and two own goals. Stephen Jory had both Saints’ goals.

St Ives Mariners enjoyed an emphatic 6-1 win at home to Carharrack after snapping up goals through Liam Taylor (2), Adam Fallows, Craig Donlevy, Tom Bird and Greg Stephens. Dylan Tiddy scored for Carharrack.

There was a real goal fest at Underlane where Wendron United IV went down 8-5 to St Erme. Guill McIvor (2), Keenan Carpenter, Phil Burnett and Alfie Luckett scored for United with Saints’ goals coming from Brandon McDonnell (4), Thierry Murley (2), Fred Murley and Cain Thompson.

Penryn Athletic Reserves’ division four title hopes suffered a setback when goals from Nathan Davison (2), Cavan Hill and Daniel Bradshaw earned Mullion III a fine 4-2 win. Dan Reeve and Liam Dent scored for Athletic.

St Just Reserves were 2-0 winners against Troon Reserves and Constantine Reserves enjoyed a welcome win when they defeated Dropship Reserves 1-0 with a goal from Paul Richards.

Helston Raiders went down 2-1 at home Lizard Argyle Reserves after notching their goal though Kian Rowland.

Lanner suffered a Percy Stephens Cup upset when they were beaten 5-2 at home by Frogpool/Cusgarne Reserves.
